Cigar Box Guitars

…made by hand, playable artwork.

What’s a Cigar Box Guitar….basically it’s this – get a box, get a stick, put some strings on it. Simple enough. I made one and it actually worked. Then I made two…three…four. It was super fun to make and play these instruments that are so raw and basic, made with mostly found objects, but are capable of crazy cool sound. I kept going with it, and started including artwork on these instruments to make them more unique. I show and sell them around town, a cafe here, a vintage store there, even some art shows in local galleries, where ever I can hang them really. This has been the focus of my art in the last couple of years along with the music we create as The Budrows.
